A very Old historical town with a lot of political influence in the past. City parcially surrounded by walls with an outstanding Parador-Hotel.The trip was staying just one night here and when we arrived there in the afternoon was going on the main year weekend local Festival with many people all around. After doing the Hotel ́s check in, having shower and getting new cloths we went walking around exploring the small town. Later we asked for good Restaurants to confirm the info., we already had…we risked choosing not the top one in the list but another much recommended by local people. That is “Casa Juan”It was a good choise. We ate in an open quiet terrace, the food was great and at the same time of eating we could see the fireworks going on live. See other pics below

Ham-drying

On our way to Salamanca we stopped in Guijüelo, famous worldwide for pig ham. After visitig a hamwarehouse, we bought ham and cheese in a recommended shop called ” Entresierras”, in the main village street. Then we had lunch in a local Restaurant which we came accross in the main street. We had lunch there already late, 15:00 pm. We asked for a “iberico dish”, and good wine as to start: It was great… one can really eat well with good Iberico ham, good cheese, good bread and good wine…and one feels in Paradise!!!
